Inauguration of the new fiera milan complex from the 29th of march to the 2nd of april five days of events open to the public
Milan, 18th March 2005 - Not just one event, but sixteen free events aimed at different kinds of public, in particular the citizens of Milan, Pero and Rho, for an estimated total of more than 25,000 attendees. Fondazione Fiera Milano has put together a vast programme for the inauguration week of the New Fiera Milan Complex, from the 29th of March to the 2nd of April. Concerts, shows, light displays, exhibitions, conventions, debates and a whole day - Saturday 2nd of April - during which anyone who wishes to see the New Complex can visit between 10.00am and 11.00pm. Some moments have also been reserved for the press that will climax with the official ceremony on the 31st March 2005, in which the Premier, Silvio Berlusconi, the President of the Lombardy Region, Roberto Formigoni, the President of the Province, Filippo Penati, and all of the local institutions will be present at the New Complex to officially cut the ribbon.
"We have organised these «five days» aimed at the citizens - explains Luigi Roth, the President of Fondazione Fiera Milano - mainly for two reasons: firstly because our intention is to make the New Complex a meeting place accessible to everybody, even when exhibitions are not in progress; secondly because in the last few years we have always tried to talk together with the territory. This calendar of events for the inauguration days has been studied to really involve and thank all of those who have demonstrated trust over the last months by giving us constructive advice in the interests of all parties involved."
